Of course it is conjecture, as are all the other comments. Conjecture is opinion based on incomplete information.

This is what happens when Hetherington does these sort of things. When people have agendas they want to push, they put there own interpretion of interviews to back up that agenda, regardless of whether what was said or not true.

Juan has an issue with Sinfield and his role. Before that he had an issue with Furner appointment.

Because I express a consistent opinion that doesn't make it an agenda. I have no agenda at all. My comments were just opinion as are yours.

I have been a big fan of Sinfield over his full playing career. But, unless you know otherwise, it is my understanding that he has no serious business management or coaching experience and I expressed my doubts at the time of his appointment. I also liked Furner very much as a player but had equal doubts about his proven ability as a head coach, but despite these doubts I did not agree with his mid season sacking.

I have some experience of the conflicting roles of the head coach and that of a Director of Rugby and again I am only expressing my opinion. However even you will have to agree that events over the last year have hardly provided much evidence to say my opinion on these two appointments is wrong.

My regular defence of Mac (against all comers  ) was not to say he never made mistakes, but was based on my long held opinion that the quality of the squad was diminishing alarmingly due to a failure to recruit quality replacements starting with Sinfield himself, JP, Kylie etc etc . What Mac did was manage to motivate his depleting squad to achievements we had no right to expect which perhaps masked the true decline in quality. If Mac was responsible for recruitment then he should take the blame for the lack of quality, however I believe that GH held the purse string tight and Mac just put up with and did his best. Conjecture yes it is!

Sinfield does have a good skill set for DoR in my view; however it’s a strategic role which will always take time to deliver real change.

The cultural change Sinfield has alluded to at Leeds requires structures, but it will absolutely require a change in personnel as well. He cannot make all those changes quickly due to contractual commitments and he’s also mentioned that before.

What is a concern however is the signing activity we’ve made (and not made) since he took the role on.

Merrin is a quality player, but I’m not convinced he was the position we needed or that he’s good enough value for money. He’s solid but he’s not the impact player I think a marquee should be.

Lolohea - really needs to produce something different to remain at the club (May have been before KS, but he did come out and put a very positive spin on the player).

Hurrell: rocks and diamonds, but probably worth marquee status overall.

Furner: well...

Donaldson, Thompson, Albert - squad fillers at absolute best.

Walters, McLelland and O’Connor: yep good prospects.

Crosby: hardly played, and probably should be a rotation prop at Leeds if and when he does.

Ava: decent signing in theory but again not the impact player we need.

I’m willing to give Kevin more time but he has a heck of a lot of change to manage, out and in, to transform this squad for 2020 and he’s going to have to demonstrate first class judgement.

The problem with an appointment like sinnys, and more recently Mags at HKR is that they don't have any experience of the role.

These are senior level appointments and you can't just wing it. Clubs these days are businesses and you wouldn't take someone off the street and put them in charge of vital parts of your business, yet in sport this happens quite frequently, and more often than not with poor outcomes.

Clearly I want Sinny to succeed but if he does it will be through his dogmatic character traits and a large slice of luck rather than any practical experience.

It also doesn't help when your boss chucks you under the first bus that passed by. That was damn poor from someone who should know better.

GH probably knows a good chunk of the fan base suspect his hand as being responsible for where we’re at.

Look across the whole game in this country. Who in the same role as Sinfield is more suited to the role than him?

Did Fitzpatrick for example have anything close to Sinfields experience? How is Wells at Cas any more experienced? Sinfield should have been in his role the moment he hung up his boots, he was always destined for it, and Hetherington should have relinquished his hold back then.

Sinfield is far from the problem. The problem was down to Hetherington, and his backing for the previous coach, and not proactive to sort the problems. Sorting that mess is a big job. The new set up are not magicians.

I don't believe anyone has said Sinny is the or even a, problem. He just has no experience of this role. Appointing someone to a senior role in an organisation with no practical experience is a huge risk.

Part of his role is to put a new structure in place to rebuild and support a winning culture. Part of that task was to get the right coach in and he has failed. In itself that is fine, we all fail at times. The next appointment as I keep saying, must be the right one or questions will rightly be asked.
