Not sure. Why do you think it was just a year? It’s because we have a replacement lined up for Parcell. With Dwyer number 2, I doubt you will see Corey get more than a couple of games next year.

Imo if its King from Fev id rather go with Dwyer & Johnson.
Whichever way we go the next Coach needs to be getting our best u19's embedded into the 1st Team or we risk losing them.

Johnson is a great prospect, but there's still question marks about Johnson's ability to defend consistently against open age opposition. Give him time to iron out his flaws in reserves and Fev next year, and give him a few first team games here and there. We have to be patient.

I understand that argument Charlie and it's a sensible approach and possibly correct but the only way you make SL players is to play them in SL in my opinion.

Warrington played a 17 year old and he did ok by all accounts. I didn't see the game but saw the end bit. Well done to Wire for having the bravery to do it.

Once you start thinking a player isn't ready they will never be ready. Sinfield wasnt ready at 16, Chev likewise, Danny, Rob, Mathers, JJB, Disko, Watkins etc. wasnt ready but was all thrown in at a young age and given the chance. We have to start that process again. It wont harm the players and the club shouldn't be scared to do it because it's the only way we will be successful in the future.

Harry Newman is a prime example of a player who when he played at Wigan 2 years ago on his SL debut wasnt ready for it but look at the kid now. Now Harry will have a dip at some point as all kids do but at the moment hes doing terrific.

I always feel rightly or wrongly that if you start holding a player back and saying maybe next yr or let's bring someone in now for 2 years and then this youngster will be ready that they will never be ready cos they simply don't get the exposure to SL they need.

There is time for these kids and we do need patience but we do need to be feeding them SL rugby every now and again starting asap, but that's just my opinion.

Marty - I agree with what you say, and I've said before its a bad side-effect of our still precarious league position that it makes giving kids a game much harder than if we were comfortably mid-table. Under franchising this would have been the perfect year to give loads of juniors a few games, and this year more than ever we've got some worth giving a game. With relegation a threat coaches will think its just too much of a risk. Warrington can afford to play a few kids because they can afford to drop the odd game, and in any event the rest of their team is playing well enough they can cover even if the kid gets swamped.
