Sensible move. Not too long. He could be a very good player if he works on some of the deficiencies in his game.

He's been excellent at times - one of our best players undoubtedly this season, and this needed to be rewarded in some way. He's got the effort and is seemingly popular with the players, and unlike Golding for example, is able to back it up with performances on the field. Nice to announce this just as we're due to play one of the clubs who were chasing him.

But - he needs to be used carefully. He's one of a few that have been dropping of tackles when some of the late soft tries have been scored against us. Plenty to work on too. A 2 or 3 year deal may have sent the wrong message. To all appearances this is the club/KS getting it right.

Tbh he's looked better starting than finishing in most of the games I've seen. There was one recent game (?Cas) in which he looked poor starting though.

That's not to say he should be starting hooker next season, at least on a regular basis. Is Parcell staying or going?

Yes Dwyer has things to improve on but he's head & shoulders above Parcell who imo is going through the motions & needs moving on asap.
I think & hope Corey Johnson starts getting more & more 1st team game time towards the end of the year when hopefully we get clear of the relegation fight.

In theory Dwyer and Johnson could be a good combination, although both are light on defence sometimes.

rewarding players for showing commitment bottle and determination, who would have thought it. if everyone in the team showed dwyers determination we would be in a much better place. He may not be the best hooker around but he plays up to and above his potential. More players needed like this, not overweight soft show ponies like Tui, ferres etc.

The deal is well deserved, he shows character, generally one of the better players this season. I heard it somewhere that Parcel is leaving at the end of the season (I don't know how true this is ) if it is true that it gives young Corey Johnson a chance to move up to the first team. At least it will keep some of you guys happy.

Doesnt it eep you happy that our current best 9 is staying & our best prospect 9 since Diskin is about to be given a chance to break through?
