Seems strange to suddenly leave during a testimonial season does anyone have any ideas I have heard a few things about past players testimonial seasons causing problems.

His final testimonial event is tonight.

Personally don't agree with testimonials in professional sport. There's not another profession I know of that have them.

Don't know if it's true but I have heard from a few contacts that Gh drops players contracts during testimonial seasons as they get a tax free sum.
I remember schoey leaving on nine years Matt diskin similar and also ablett and Ryan hall becoming unsettled.Then after the testimonial season most get one or two year deals.

Why would they get anything tax free?

Was it Baileys testimonial year that there was a truly awful "drive-by paintballing" shirt released?

Don't quote me on this but I thought that sports stars got up to £100,000 tax free for their testimonials
