I really can’t get my head around this until I see the bigger picture, assuming there is one.

It’s not impossible that Lui could spark enough creativity to help keep us up. Is it a signing for a table-topping Leeds though going forward?

End of the day there is a difference between who we want and who wants to come. Players can see how we’re performing and we look a long way from being the kind of quality side that quality players want to be part of.

Interesting reading the Salford forum, they rate him very very highly, I think were just going to see how he goes, put it this way I’m more confident of picking up some wins with someone like Lui in the halves rather than what we’ve got

They do. Hes a very good signing no doubt. If true of course

Some of the comments from our fans especially on SM are pretty embarrassing and actually downright disrespectful, Lui IS a good player and we will be a better team with him in, just because we want Hastings or Malony doesn’t mean we can just click our fingers and they will join just because we are Leeds

I’m struggling to get overly excited by this news. We need a general, someone who will direct is around the park, and put on the right play at the right time, whilst also marshalling the defence (it seems that Walker is yet to learn this, and Tui simply doesn’t speak).

I don’t think that Lui is that kind of player, so whilst he’s more creative than what we have now, he doesn’t actually solve the problem.

Who’s available that does though?

I think the answer is pretty much anyone. Our game is not exactly awash with cash, most clubs would look to release a player if the money on the table was enough. I’m not saying we could sign anyone because we are Leeds, but even in our current position the club would be a big drawcard.

We’ve left it too late to bring in an Aussie, so it would have to be someone over here already, I’d be going all out for Hastings, on a 2+ year deal allowing him to go with 6 months notice, as long as we get a a fee the same as we paid for him.

So we just settle for whats available?
Lui isn't as good as many are making out its part of the reason he's been at Salford so long & onky chased by KR another relegation threatenrd team until KS turned up with 65k hoping for some magic beans.
Whether he is better than poundland lolohea or average Sutcliffe is neither here nor there. At Salford he has a genuine 7 a HB General which is what we need not the off the cuff try whatever springs up past his best 6.
Also they have a settled squad with a good solid game plan they're all used to we dont.
This idea we're getting the second coming of Thurston is ridiculous its not disrespectful to call an average player just that & a Wife Beater something GH was so agzinst.

What makes you think they haven't tried to do this and Hastings doesnt want to come? Arrogance of our supporters at its finest.. Lui is a fine player lets give the club n the guy a chance..

How is that arrogant? I said I’d be going all out to get him, I didn’t say he’d come?

Bit of an over reaction there mate.

I’m sure they’ve tried to get Hastings, getting a a player to move mid season is hardly a straightforward thing and the player and club have got to want it to happen.

Youve also no idea who they have or haven’t approached
