A win tomorrow will put us within 4 points of a top 5 play off spot. Is it achievable?

Yes. Which is ridiculous.

It would be very difficult because everyone will play almost everyone else. You'd expect the current top 5 to win at least half their remaining games meaning they'd end up with 28 or 30 points minimum. We'd have to win 7 or 8 out of 9 to catch them.

It’s a crazy season this year isn’t it?

Salford looked poor tonight, lose and remain on 18 points. That’s only 2 wins ahead of the chasing pack and suddenly you wonder if they are safe.

I don’t think we will make the 5 this year but we should start playing more like a top 5 side regardless to carry some hope and improvement into the off season.

On paper the squad is quite improved from this time last year.

We have now won 4 out of our last 6 games and more importantly started defending well.

If we can win 6 of our next 8 games I think it will be enough to make 5th place.

Playing Saints the week before the Cup Final could be handy if they rest several players.

A lot of incentive for the team.

Friday is a huge game, win that and we can start looking up at the Top 5

I think if we do make the top 5 there's a risk we think the current squad have gelled and the revamp stalls - I'd happily take 6th to 11th and a continuation of the exit of the dross.

It’s not mutually exclusive. If we do make the 5 I’d still like to think certain players cards are marked and we have a few more signings lined up. We’re clearly still some way behind the competition’s benchmark side.

Having said that, stranger things have happened and Saints aren’t invincible in a one-off game.

Still lots of hard work to do. Let's get next week out of the way. Win that and pressure will be much reduced
