Good news for all concerned. Brett needed a new challenge and the Championship probably gives him a few more years, and we get to free up some cap space for where it’s needed more.

Now let’s go get a good prop and good hooker over the line.

The best move for both player and club, good luck to Brett, he’s been hammered on these forums but I do think he put the effort in.

Don’t recall seeing much effort during first 4-5 months of last season.

Thank God we've got rid of the waster.

Surely there will be some movement how many players have left now?

I'm sad that he didn't work out with us. Never lived up to expectations. In his first season I think he was one of the better players at the beginning, but totally misused.
The next couple of seasons I don't think we ever had him fit enough.

Last season he was definitely mixed. Overall not a great signing, but not as bad a player as you'd think reading comments on here. I wouldn't have been against a new deal, on reduced terms, but if we are building to the future it's probably the right call.

Maybe it's just me but I do find comments like this a bit distasteful. Yes he hasn't lived up to his potential and hasn't overall been a great signing for us but I just find calling players 'wasters' a bit much, he played most of last season with a knee injury which he has just had surgery on, he seems to be well respected by the coaching staff and playing group, a fan on a forum calling him a waster just seems a bit off to me.

After the last two seasons a bit of a clear out was needed
