You are wrong in respect of pumping money in - Caddick guaranteed the overdraft but didn't put significant sums in to the Rhinos. He may have into RU via the Rhinos - did the RL side write off an i/c loan to the RU? The Rhinos paid off the overdraft out of trading.
The North stand had to be done to retain international cricket at Headingley - so not a vanity project at all. The southstand needed an overhaul it was an embarrassment to the club the state it was in.
