I think it will be more fringe than that. But if that happens, I would swap Mellor and Martin round for this. Would also start Myler at hooker to see what happens. And use Evans or Briscoe from start to have a look.

We have the Newcastle game too on the Sunday so I’d expect both them to play in that squad

From an interview with Agar in the YEP the other day:
"For Wigan we are going with players who are in contention for round one,” Agar confirmed.

“Featherstone will be a younger, more inexperienced team and anybody we feel needs top-ups or more footy before we get to round one.”

Leeds’ academy players are likely to get an opportunity against Newcastle and Hunslet.

Also James Webster said today that Fev's range of DR players will be playing against them rather than for them on Friday. I'd expect to see most of the Leeds squad numbers in the 20s and 30s playing on Friday, which is usually the case in the Fev-Leeds friendly (and it's usually a good game).

Will be interesting to see both squads for sure.

How did all the Duel Reg lads do for Fev today?

Hard to judge it was a bit of a arm wrestle and fev had a hell of a lot of defending to do. Tyler Dupree was probably the pick of the Leeds lads. Sam Walters didn’t get a great deal of time whilst broadbent didn’t really get any running opportunities.

Will be interesting to see what the two sides look like.
I would imagine fev will look to use more of their own players this year and will use DR sparingly when they need to whilst a few of the fevs younger players will play for Leeds in reserve grade.

Sounds like Ferres will be making his debut for Fev. I'd expect all the DR lads who played for us today to be playing for Leeds on Friday.

Think the above may be correct. Our starting 17 at Fev is pretty strong, we have very little depth though and that's where DR will come in. I'd think we'll probably use McLelland from the start if he isn't in the Leeds 17 in week one, but with Alex Sutcliffe injured maybe not too many others early on until injuries etc come into play. Maybe Holroyd if he's not selected by Leeds, but Lockwood, Ferguson, Ferres, Albert, Susino, Harrison, Bussey are all top-range Championship forwards and the likes of Mustapha, Walters, Dupree etc may need to wait for injuries/suspensions (which will happen of course) before they get a run out. The position Fev badly need at the moment is a second hooker so it's a shame Johnson is injured.

Am sure the Leeds reserves will see plenty of the Fev younger fringe players especially in the backs which is where we have a few youngsters and where I believe you might not be quite as blessed in depth as you are with young forwards.
