I enjoy watching Gale's kicking there's a lot more variety and intention rather than just a half-hearted bomb or kick to touch we've had for years. I hope he stays fit, if so he'll have a good season.

In regards to the Agar posts, I think yesterday was a good win but I still don't think Agar is the man to move us forward. A win here and there isn't what we need. He still feels like a stop-gap appointment.

Great result yesterday and evidence that in key positions the club is better placed than 12 months ago.Considering that potentially the clubs first choice hooker and both back rows were missing there are real positives to take moving forward. The quality of the opposition obviously needs to be taken into account but I don't expect a relegation battle this year. When assessing the first 2 games it is clear in the bigger tests Leeds ability to compete will be measured on metres made up front on attack and quality of defence limiting opposition go forward. When we win this battle in a game Gale supported by Smith and Lui will manage a game in a manner Leeds have not had for a couple of years. Need to keep 2 front row options on the bench and play people in their correct positions in the backs. Check out Briscoe metres stats I think he deserves a run of 5/6 games and then people can fairly assess his potential at super league level

I think last year early season we lost some games we really should have won ,even though we weren't that good. Heads must have gone down . That London game was a real sickener

I agree about Luke briscoe he might be the best winger a team the club at the minute.

Not wanting to be a doom and gloom merchant but just a perspective.

Against a good team we got steamrolled and against a poor team we walloped them.

Last night we were good right across the park but it was against a team we really should be beating if we even have mid table aspirations.

Against better teams we won't have it as easy.

Let's take the many positives but not get too carried away.

So in perspective we are not up to it against potential top 3-4 sides but way too good for bottom 3-4 sides. That would put us 5-6 place i’d take that after last few seasons. Thats a good upward curve.

The thing is we cant read anything into how the whole year will go on last nights game anymore than we can from the Hull game which was my point when counteracting the people who seemed to write the season off after one game.

What I will say is yes Hull KR didn’t look great (bearing in mind some were heaping praise on them last week) but we did, there was a lot of movement and the younger players really stood up, lets just take it for what it was, a very good team performance and for once an enjoyable night at Headingley which have been in short supply recently

That's fair tbh but just on that 1st game we looked a million miles away which should be unacceptable if our climb back into contention is starting this year.

And last night we didn’t look a million miles away.

We’ll win some and we’ll lose some, that will always be the case when rebuilding, bear in mind against hull we lost our Marquee player and Captain early on, which seemed to coincide with us losing any momentum and our best prop was out.

Us fans tend to place too much on certain games as I say neither last nights game nor the on against Hull mean anything in terms of how we will go this year, its a long season and there will be a fair few twists and turns
