For all those people now faced with the prospect of having to self isolate and wondering how to pass the time, can I suggest something that is interesting, enjoyable, educational and cheap. Why not try writing a novel that is based on your own life and times.
This is something that I started to do as a hobby back in 1988. It was inspired by three things: firstly my interest in and knowledge of the sport of rugby league, its history and its many characters, secondly having a family tree going back to 1777 and thirdly the old saying about work that "They could write a book about this place. It would be a best seller." Based on my own experiences so far, I have now written a short guideline on how to write such a novel. It is called "Three Good Years" and has a background of Work, Family Life, Saving The NHS and Rugby League all set during the 2006,2007 and 2008 seasons.
