I disagree - Powell is so regimented doubt Orr had much input not sure what he would add - never been in a highly performing environment

That was a long time ago tho and people change. He was a great player and i can see he could become a decent attack coach but hes not the type of person i would want around the club.

Long played for St. Judes, but I take your point. I could tell you quite a few stories about him. He didn't last long coaching the academy at Wigan.

I’ve no idea what Long is like as a coach but he’s had a few different experiences and likely will be building knowledge and skills. He was of course a top player. He may also be able to advise a few younger players of what not to do as well as improving their game.

Also worth pointing out we’ve already got people on and off the pitch who have done much worse than Long in the past.

I think it’s an exciting appointment, one thing he can’t do much about is our team could do with more pace for mine.

Anything, absolutely anything, is an improvement on JJB and Walker, so its a gamble worth taking.

Paul Gustard at Quins hasn't said a bad word about him and would welcome him back.
