So why did Kendall not penalise all the other incorrect play the balls in the game including the one leading to a Wigan Try , Mellor regained his feet and actually played the ball correctly , the only thing he did wrong was place his hands back on the ground as he was trying to balance himself due to injury . It was a typical all about me decision from Kendall that we have come to expect from him !

I have no idea mate, you will have to take that up with Kendall. The referee was right to penalise Mellor though. You say he played the ball correctly and then contradict yourself saying 'that all he did wrong was place his hands back on the ground', you can't have it both ways. Consistency is a major issue in refereeing.

I don't disagree, there were many. Two wrongs don't make a right though.

Mellor's ptb was by the letter of the law a penalty. You would hope given Mellor was clearly in some distress that common sense would have been applied. Mellor wasnt trying to gain an advantage, he was just trying to bring the ball back into play anyway he could.

Ive no issue with Kendalls performance on Thurs, the ruck was poor all night but he allowed both teams to slow it down. If anything he allowed us to slow ruck more. The Mellor one was harsh i thought.

How many times have you seen a player with concussion play the ball incorrectly and get penalised? In such circumstances it may be better if the referee told the player to play the ball again rather than penalising him.

One thing the referees seem to have forgotten about is the late flop. Two players already completed the tackle and a third falls on top. Most teams are doing it, you can see it is being coached and needs to be stopped.

I was not contradicting myself at all , just pointing out that it was a better effort to play the ball than some others on the night . You take it with Kendall please as i have no wish to speak to him . Thanks in advance .

I’d prefer that, ref makes them play the ball and waits till defenders are set. Same with moving forward off the mark just make them step back and play it again, we starting policing this a few years ago and it soon stopped.

Yep just totalling ignored nowadays. Some of us just want to see the rules of the game applied properly and consistently, not pedantically, but a decrease in intolerance if the basic rules.
