With some luck Jack Sinfield might change that a bit.

You would think Leeds will play better than that most weeks but pretty ordinary tonight.

Good to see a couple of players I’ve not seen before though.

Yes not the best. We looked the better side on an individual basis but couldn’t string much together.

Max Simpson looked great, impressed with him. Ben Mayhew was industrious. Tom Nicholson-Watton is solid.

Physical displays from the three Seth mentioned but they need to stop trying to run through entire teams on their own every carry.

Not actually sure how that side lost the game.

Leeds lost the game because of Castlefords tenacious defence, they were led around the park better and had a better kicking game.

Physically I thought that Leeds were better and I definitely think that Hall and Edwards are outstanding prospects. Plus the 12. Atkinson?

You have to have a pivot in the first place for a pivot to make a break.

Kris Radlinski made some interesting points on the out of your league podcast regarding the need for a cultural change in the attitudes of our players if they're ever going to fulfil their potential and help grow the game.

Some quotes from it here: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wigant ... 2001%3famp

He basically confirms what I've suspected for a while.

Didnt get chance to see the game until last night, dissapointing result, but even in a game we lost, for me, its clear we'v got the better individual talents. The best two halfbacks in our system are Morgan and Sinfield, both very good, one injured and one a year away from academy rugby... so not too down about the performance of the halfbacks in this game...They arnt seen as long term prospects in the halfs.

As i mentioned in my OP for this thread, Max Simpson is very good, better than Nichol and Stewart in the year above, he showed some of that here, excellent game for such a young player, not only is he a first year, he's a very young one, still only 16, birthday end of July. Just Highlights what an exceptional intake this group is, Simpson, Morgan, Edgill and Gatus are all quality...But overshadowed by Edwards and Gannon.

Tindall and Hall looked physically superior but , as mentioned, with things to work on...Love there workrate though. Edwards was quality as usual, looked likely to break the line every time he touched it, Big fan of Luca Atkinson and thought he looked good with his handling in the backrow

Chev Walker??? Another rambling post match interview, really not sure about him, well i think im sure and have been since he took over... but il hold my tongue, i was questioning Long last week and we'v just put 60 up

I've thought the same about Walkers interviews, also always sounds to be distancing himself from the playing issues and pointing the finger.

First time I’ve seen Simpson and was very impressed.

Still don’t know if Edwards is better in the back row. He seems to like playing tight and to get involved in D.

As you say, a few real standouts coming through and that‘a in addition to the players who have recently progressed into first team contention.

If Tindall can turn his defensive weakness into a strength he will make it, but he has a lot to work on. Still young though and what he does have, you can’t coach.

Edwards looks the type of player who can play anywhere.Backrow maybe his best but he also looks good at centre. He may end up as a hard running ball playing 13.

Trouble us the modern game does not really have ball playing 13’s its a mobile prop role. Personally I would love the ball playing running 13 to make a comeback.
