Also on a positive note I thought Mellor was much better last night than he has shown so far, under the circumstances at least. Put some great hits in and seemed solid moving forward too. Hard to find many more positives from that game
I thought Mellor was better last night as you say ran harder..Broadbent showed some good movement at centre and for mine should stay there.

one of the commentators this week said how half backs are continuously practising to sections of the field marked out with cones --- students must have nicked our cones

Just watching the highlights, Handley and T Briscoes defensive efforts, or lack of, for some of them trys were pathetic.

Completely get the point, they have used 1 tackle and have only 4 carries before a kick. They are under pressure and in effect you need to make 1 tackle less per set and save energy.

I wonder if after nearly losing the cup final from Williams going 90 yards and the Johnstone try v wakey, we have got too scared of a break away try.

They should be practicing using Walters for kicks landing 10-15 in from touch on a half backs head.

HKR only had 1 half back and his kicking was very good. For mine smith is Still a top coach

“Square pegs, round holes” comment by Agar speaks volumes for me.

Quote from Agar

“ I thought we looked like a team that had been thrown together this afternoon."

So exactly who is throwing that shambolic group together?

Ah yes that would be you Agar

I really dont like it when a coach points the finger squarely at the players whist at the same time doesnt mention mistakes with coaching and coaching decisions at all. One, because inevitably there will always be improvement to address in the coaching team and two, because by putting his hand up to mistakes too it can have a positive outcome of further bringing the group together and strengthening trust.

Agar's doing what he can with what he has imo.
Pack's mainly ok when a reasonable number are fit.
Spine isn't that of a top 3 side whoever's fit. No control at end of sets means that we both do more tackling than we need while simultaneously score fewer points than our field position suggests we should. Once results pick up - and I reckon they will - I can see us hitting the sort of heights Hull FC fans have experienced unless further changes are made to the players rota.

It's not how much talent you've got, it's what you do with it that counts.

Leadership, that’s what you are describing. Admitting mistakes and showing vulnerability can be very powerful for the group.
