You think the players attitude is bad? I dont see that at all. Other than KR, which was poor, i cant say the players have lacked effort, far from it. I see a team giving all it has most weeks. Certainly a lack of quality in certain areas but absolutely not a lack of attitude. Jeez the performance at Saints was equal of any grand final win in terms of grit and determination.

Sundays game was poor quality and frustrating but certainly not down to attitude in my opinion.

I do believe Gale, Tetevano and Myler are important players for us and any team would struggle minus 3 big players. When they return along with Lui, Newman, Holroyd, Smith etc we will be fine but that comes down to expectation doesnt it?

I honestly think people on here expect this team to be as good as the golden team, that isnt fair and isnt realistic. Those daya are gone. With a full team we are capable of pushing for 4th along with a few other teams such as Hull, Wire, Catalans etc. Thats where we are.

Everytime we lose its Agar out which again comes down to expectations. We arent a grand final team yet, those days are over for now as i say. Is he the man to lead us back there? Probably not. Is he a steady hand to guide us on the right path right now? I believe so.

Weve had so many injuries in key positions that i think we all agree its a difficult, nigh on impossible, job for any coach at the minute. Lets see how team does in a few week.

And look at last season. Would anyone have believed we would win a trophy at start of season...?

We have no divine right to win Grand Finals. Worth remembering that after Saints won in 2006 they had to wait seven years to lift the trophy again. That's a short break compared to Wigan's 12 year drought after winning it 1998. We'll get a lot better when our key players are back and then it's up to the management to find the talent to put us at the top table again.

Also if we look at the list of CC winners since Sheffield won it. All very good teams. Is not an easy comp to win. That semi vs Wigan as as good a performance as any of the GF triumphs imo...we are moving on a, good direction.....

Winning the CC last year was wonderful, but we played well in one game leading up to it (really well), and then jagged the final against a spirited Salford in a match that could have gone the other way.

Winning games isn't a black and white thing; sport is inherently unpredictable. What Leeds need to do is assemble a squad that is capable of beating the top sides more often than not. The Goldens didn't win every game (by a long chalk), or even every big game.

The club is making the right noises if they have sights on 3 more quality signings. Will we need a new coach for 2022? Maybe. What I do know is that for me, excuses do run out next year and we have the resources to make a challenge for top 4 again by then, with the young lads another season developed and a some more quality added in.

Yeah same in 99 we only beat London Broncos in final so doesnt really count i suppose? Graham Murray got so lucky and playing against Tulsen Tollett and co really made an average Iestyn look better than he was. Rest of clubs couldnt be bothered and let us get to Wembley anyway.

Graham Murray pffft total stop gap. Only ever won 1 trophy. How many of that 99 team wouldve got a game in 1910 Cup winning team?

Saints havent won cup since 2008 yet its such an easy trophy to win. Doesnt add up really
i'm all for an easy cup draw and my old man was all for beating the good teams early and 99 we beat wigan , sts and bradford continuing what we'd built in 98 you'd do better comparing his successor who got to the final playing poorly

You have to wonder if our starting halves Lui and Gale being out has something to do with us not looking well coached dont you? Mind you our back ups Eastmond and Myler should be able to cope im sure....oh wait no....theyve been out too. Still our 3rd choice half back pairing of Sutcliffe and McLelland should fill in okish....oh bummer theyve been out too. Oh well surely we could play Cam Smith in halves....oh poo hes missing too.

But weve still got Jack Walker in our spine....hang on hes not played for 2 years. But Myler is a more than capable replacement...oh wait but weve already established hes been out all year. Sutcliffe then, good old jack of all trades Sutty he can play at 1.....ah but f..k hes been out and is needed in halves when fit cos our other 6 halves are out. Well lets play a kid at full back then whos played half a dozen SL games.

Ive really no idea why we dont look well coached. Total mystery.

Lmao.

Spot on!

The number of players unavailable is a massive driver of our performances and results. Not only do you replace people with lower quality, but the knock on effect is that the rest of the players are out of position and under more pressure, hence more errors and penalties.

That doesn't mean than the coach isn't getting the most out of the players though

Mate, we won the CC and finished 5th last season.
This season we're out of the CC and 4th from bottom.
How exactly is that a good direction?
