"Arguably the best Rugby League side certainly in the last 40 years!" Phil Clarke.

I can’t see us signing a winger unless a bolter becomes available. Handley’s wing is nailed on and I think TB would have to murder someone to get dropped. He’s still a solid player but his form has been poor this year so far.

If Tindall is making progress then I don’t see us signing there.

FB is a bit different. Myler is a back up (a decent one), Walker is an unknown. I could see us signing someone with pace here to give us options over the back three.

Tom Holroyd (assuming we re-sign him) will be in the 17 next season if fit. So... if it were me, +1 starting prop, or +2 if Prior leaves. +1 starting stand off. +1 FB who can cover wing. Would be happy with that.

You cant get rid of every player plus we have a salary cap you will have average players in the squad. An aveage player as you put it often ups his game when playing with better players.Next season i can see Walters starting before Mellor if Mellor doesnt improve add Bentley or someone of that standard Tet at 13 who later moves to prop Smith to come to 13 and a pick for the bench of Holroyd Thompson Mellor Donaldson Gannon Dwyer new prop its starting to look something like.
walters and mellor could still improve not so smith, donaldson , thompson , compare to our previous weaker back rows bailey, delaney , ablettt , jjb -- , handley no hall , tom briscoe no tom briscoe all centres poor relations of watkins and senior , no top class hooker or 6, long transition but looking forward to hull game

It's so concerning to see how injury prone Walker, Smith, and Holroyd seem. Some serious talent there. Hope they can shake the plague....!

I'm not saying JJB was a world superstar but he was plaguey in his younger years and came through it.

It's a tough sport - Sam Burgess came through young and he's a physical ruin. Barrie Mac and Keith Senior are both more machine than man.

There is something about being physcially tuned to it - maybe a hardness which only comes through maturity and years of training.

Having said that Walker looks injured every time he takes a tackle, and Holroyd's position means he's in heavy traffic constantly. Fingers crossed.

Yeah really hope so. To already have lost our best player in Stevie Ward was gutting.....

you say back row too many and keep 4 average ones , good luck to lui did a job now time for a quality 6

I was keeping the ones that were under contract for 2022 didnt necessarily mean I saw them as the future. We have good young players coming through in the back row and recruitment is more important elsewhere.

Whereas I do think it's the right thing for Lui to move on, I think he will help us out on the field this year.

There are some other good backrowers at the club still to come through too. Can't wait for academy to start up again.
