Spate of decent TV series : Wed Jan 20, 2016 2:33 pm
All of a sudden, and not including the various transatlantic ones, there turns out to be a number of series that are very watchable.I tuned in to River, and it proved to be strangely compelling and different. Enjoyed that.
War and Peace is period costume drama done as only the Beeb can.
Shetland is back and promising to be as good as last time.
Dickensian has just been a treat. The brainwave of comping up with a story involving simultaneous interaction between many of Dickens' best loved characters really is a stroke of genius, and the staging, casting and costumes have been flawless.
And then coming up is a very interesting sounding new series with James Nesbitt, who for me has a good track record, Lucky Man.
To name but some. Throw in the imminent return of The Fall, and X-Files (treble Gillian Andersons all round!) and I need another pair of eyes.
