BEWARE : Sat May 30, 2009 11:25 pm
If you are thinking about booking a trip to watch Cats at home BEWARE. Sky have just moved the Quins game after we have all booked and paid for flights, trains car parks and accommodation (kennels and catteries for pets). 95% of the fans now have a trip booked at £300+ and cannot even see the game. We will not see the game as it is now being played on the Sunday and even if we went to Perpignan instead of wasting flight and accommodation money we would not be home in England in time to watch the game on SKY which really rubs salt in the wounds. SKY have indicated they will move games as and when they see fit. No support from the club and none from the RFL. Please contact SKY and RFL and show your disgust. It may be your fans next time, if not this season next.

that is either very stupid or very arrogant of sky and the club. I feel sorry for the affected fans, but dont let it ruin the weekend, the town loves rl and the english fans, watch the other game in a bar and have a great little holiday.

By the way, the Cas Vs Cats game has been moved from Sunday afternoon to Saturday evening to pander to Sky TV ... Have you contacted the RFL or jammed the message boards with regards to potential messing about of their fans travel plans ?

Viewing League from the North

: Sun May 31, 2009 11:26 am
I have also suffered at the hands of Sky, although not as far as France, but they moved a Saints game from Friday to Saturday last year which meant an extra night in St Helens and an additional cost of £100+. I contacted the club who replied saying in effect that they were as disgusted with the alterations as we were, but as there was a contractual agreement with the broadcaster, there was nothing they could do. The fault lies with the RFL who obviously let pound signe cloud their judgement as far as caring for fans in concerned. Obviously nothing can be done till the next round of negotioations, but when that time comes, if the RFL have any consideration whatsoever for the fans, they should ensure fixtures cannot be changed on the whim of Sky (or any other broadcaster). It is inevitable that in extreme cases (the sad case of Leon Walker) changes will be inevitable, but not just because a broadcaster feels like it. But we are talking about the RFL here; I'm not holding my breath!

What was the name of the German who scored against England in Euro 96 semi after 16 mins??????????? That just about sums my feelings on Sky on this issue.......
