Tompkins did alright today, but as ever with him, he does as many stupid things as he does good things. For example his 40:20 under pressure put his side in the position to score a try, but then 2 minutes later he balloons one out on the full from way inside his own half. He is also an absolute idiot defensively, always offside and he is never square at the play the ball, which costs them over and over again. Their discipline is absolutely shocking. In the second half they had around 80% possession but were still losing ground on the penalty count. Against a top team (Any one of the 2) that would be exploited.

The star man for the Goons today wasn't that little parasite it was Frodo O'Loughlin. I don't rate him at all but he stepped up to the mark today and it was him that earned that victory, not Mr Hit then Miss Tompkins.

If you read it properly you will realise it wasn't. Are you suggesting he didn't kick the ball out on the full in his own half after kicking the 40:20 or that he didn't concede a couple of penalties through his niggling and not standing square at the play the ball?

Most of my post was criticism of Wigan's discipline, for that you can check the game stats, and praise for Sean O'Loughlin.

Of course I'm not suggesting he didn't kick the ball of on the full because anybody with eyes would of seen it

You suggested he did as many bad things as he did good which is a load of tosh. His kicking game, bar that one out on the full was brilliant. His passing game and general organisation was the best I've seen it. I can only remember him giving away one penalty (but I am probably wrong and his discipline isn't as poor as you make out) but he saved a certain try with a brilliant tackle as wel, his defence is excellent for a lad of his size. Sam was brilliant yesterday, his best game IMO. Your post just sounded bitter and didn't give him any credit which I felt was laughable, sorry if I misunderstood you.

Our discipline is very poor, we often get hammered in the penalty count as was the case again. Lockers was also great for us, as he has been all season, really stepped up this year. Sadly the problems lie with most of the other 15 guys in Wigan colours

Your pointing 1 of the only couple of mistakes that he made, Sam is a very talented young player and will continue to make mistakes but over the future years he is going to have with Wigan I have every faith in him that he will be winning more games for us than making errors such as the one you pointed out.

And by no way am I saying he is our saviour as many of you claim that we are saying about him, but he is one of our own Wigan products along with McIlorum, Ainscough etc... who we do need to start building a team around.

You are correct though as regarding Locky, he has played out of his skin this season and Sunday's game was a true reflection of how well he has played in the majorit of our games even if we have lost. Hopefully he will stay injury free. People forget still that Locky is still pretty young and is nowhere near at the peak of his game yet. As said, we need to build a consistent team based round our own youth and not see many changes each year like your team has managed to have done. If we can do this, then we will start to see how well developed the likes of Sam Tomkins etc... have a possible impact on our future team.
