Yes, you have built youth policy on the back of that, but that 1996 SL season when you won, how many kids had come through to be first team regulars? Warrington's first team this season incorporates players who have come through the academy systems, or players we have signed at a young age and developed into SL players, such as Riley, Harrison, Bridge, Grix,. The only 'fat chequebook' signings we have really made is probably Morely and Johns, who are genuine world class players and really do warrant it IMO.
And to suggest Tony Smith falls into the 'well coached' category is like saying Michael Jackson was somewhat well known.

Goulding- relatively unknown before 1996
Martyn- same as above
Sculthorpe- Bought from you as a big money player
Long- Widnes bought Lee Hanson from us for 60,000 quid plus Sean Long so he was given to us, Hardly big money

I suggest that our sucess in 1996 was BECAUSE of our youth policy paying off finally not due to big money signings that we then suddenly built a youth policy off. Our biggest help in becoming what we are today is the salary cap. This played to our strength's and stopped teams winning because they bought the best players.
My well coached comment was not a slur on your beloved Tony ( I think he is a great coach and one who will bring you sucess) My point was that, as i said you are a good team that is well coached. There are many other good teams that are well coached in that i include the top 10 teams of superleague. SO it was more about the quality of the rest of the league (Hence my problem with your tag line) and not a swipe at Warrington being average as you are not.
