But it seems St Helens boss Royce Simmons wants to talk to his fellow Aussie about doing a job for him
Hope he can play PROP otherwise i don't know why Royce would want him?
He's a hooker, cant say as I've ever noticed him, although sounds solid enough. But not good enough for HKR, is for the Saints???...
As previously reported by the Mail, Fisher is expected to be replaced by Crusaders hooker Lincoln Withers next season.
Fisher was one ofJustin Morgan's first signings, helping the Robins win promotion to Super League with a 29-16 win over Widnes in the Grand Final.
He became the first Rovers player to reach 100 Super League games during a solid six-year spell at Craven Park.
This season, Fisher has shared the hooking role with Josh Hodgson, who signed a new two-year deal earlier in the year.
With Rovers expected to announce Withers as their fifth confirmed signing for 2012 within the coming days, Fisher is now looking for a new club.
His departure will leave Jason Netherton and Scott Murrell as the two remaining members of the 'Originals' - players who helped the club win promotion to Super League.
Fisher, who captained Scotland in the last World Cup, has played 137 league games for Rovers and says he is determined to end his time at Craven Park on a winning note.
"I want to finish the season on a high in my last game at Craven Park," said Fisher.
"There's no way I'm leaving that field on Saturday as a loser.
"It's going to be an emotional week for me knowing that it's going to be the last time I'll play in front of the fans as a home player, and I want to thank them as well.
"It has been fantastic playing in front of them week-in, week-out.
"I'd like to thank the club for giving me the chance to represent them in what has been an amazing journey.
"I want to say a thank-you to Neil Hudgell, the board and the coaching staff because I've grown up with this club.
"Justin Morgan gave me the opportunity and has put faith in me to enable me to achieve what I've achieved, so I owe a special thanks to him.
"I'm certain we've still got another five games in us and we can achieve something special."
Hope he can play PROP otherwise i don't know why Royce would want him?

Why would we be intrested in ben fisher the only reason I can think is cover for roby but surely lance can play hooker if roby gets injured with gaskell lomax or wheeler starting half backs

And Flanaghan, allegedly
Seeing as he has signed for Batley,I imagine he is very cheap, which is why we are interested.
He's a decent player, Fisher, but it would be an odd signing. If it was on the understanding that it was purely back-up for 1 season, and he was very cheap, then I suppose I could handle the idea.
It is Dave Parker, though, so I'm awaiting a dumptruck to deliver all the salt with which I'm going to take this news.
I know exactly where this story has come from, and unfortunately - as with most of Nosy Parker's 'gossip', the source is incorrect and the product of a Chinese whisper. In the Batley News sports section yesterday, it was reported that Saints HAD expressed an interest in Ben Fisher, but that he had opted for Batley due to travelling reasons. Although I'm delighted that we've signed him, I genuinely don't believe that, had St.Helens really been interested, he would have opted for Batley over them!!!

Exactly, so we've got Roby, Lance, Lomax and Flanaghan who can all play hooker. Fisher's solid enough, but not needed.
