I think Gardner had a relatively poor game on Friday, but defensively normally he's sound, sometimes incredible. And he can take high balls and he can finish well. I don't understand the moaning about Gardner generally but I do appreciate that he wasn't at his best on Friday. But an off game is ok by me. Fortunately, on Friday everyone else was on form, more or less!

I have to agree, Friday wasn't one of his better games. He made a fair few bad decisions in defence, which could have cost us. Fortunately, as you say, it didn't. Hopefully, that's his bad game out the way.

Great finish in the corner from Gardner last friday. His ability to finish under pressure is excellent.
