Sir Mc has it all in hand. I imagine the crafty bugger is trying to shave a few quid off the price as deveopers are now desperate for work, which is just good business sense

Sadly there are fewer developers around to choose from as well though, so that goes against this.

This is now in Langtree's hands as it is their profession, so I'm sure they know what they are doing

I hate to be sad but does anyone know what procurement process is being adopted and what form of contract they are using.

The Construction News website only tells us that up to 5 contractors will be invited to tender.

When you refer to developers are you refering to housing developers or general contractors?

If it is the latter then there are more than enough contractors who want to win work. In my office we are seeing a significant reduction in tendered rates so it is more than possible that a few quid could be saved which could be millions for a scheme of this size.

No it hasn't, the warehouses, which were the only buildings actually on the area where the Saints ground will be, are still there. I'm told that Pilks still have a lot of glass stored in them.

Anyone going past the site can see the warehouses still standing.

I thought as much, out of interest does the different tender types mean?

Seems like you are being sad now!

However there are a multitude of different ways to tender for construction work. I'll drop an e-mail to Langtree in the morning to try and find out.

I just thought all these posters with the finger on the pulse of all that is St Helens rugby league might already know.... hence my first question.
