ANNOYING! Aint they, don't like feeling like a small club so invent 'derbies' for themselves, pointed out to 1 of them week of your game!

There board was full of articles about it, Saints had 1, with people saying stuff like - Injuries, may lose ok!

I could just be having a stroke, but none of that makes any sense to me whatsoever.

Aah, they're from Widnes. Nevermind.

Our derby is Widnes, regardless of where they currently are. The saints/wigan games are still derbies, but widnes is our proper derby. It's about as pointless as asking a hull fc fan "which is your derby kr or leeds?"

Last three Wire games hmmmmmmm

from the way saints just rolled over and let wigan paste them at edinburgh seemed to me like wigan derbys mean nothing anymore saints never play like that against warrington fair enough you always win but every game for the last few years could have easily gone either way and has been the perfect game for a neutral to watch especially at warrington where both sets of fans actually sing so the atmosphere is immense we are one of the only clubs who actually sing at home for big games and dont try and say that you saints fans sing at home because you clearly dont but your away support is pretty good

Did you breathe anywhere there?

I enjoy the Wire derbies the best. Wigan is probably the bigger derby because of all the years of tradition backing it up but Wire for the last few years has had much more excitement to it. We always seem to end up winning from a position of looking like we are going to lose by a mile and the hoodoo thing certainly gives the match a spice that just doesn't exist in Wigan games anymore IMO.

an atmosphere that isn't created by people in matching shirts clapping along to a drum or novelty PA music might be nice!

Warrington fans kid themselves, they think that Stains and Wigan really hate them, which is quite amusing. As for Widnes being their derby, probably isn't anymore due to our downfall and Lower league status, but still we play leigh now which is still fairly entertaining. But no St Helens fan in the right mind wants to beat Wires more than goons. Battle of Billinge Hill is the best derby in the game by a country mile

Saints - Wire is a better game these days, but that doesnt mean its the biggest derby.

I look forward to them more than the Wigan derby.
Out of all the teams, I hate losing to, and want to win againt Leeds more than anyone.

The Wigan games lost more and more over the years as the team lost all the great players they used to have.
There is still that hatred between the two teams though.

Saints - Wire have been amongst the best games of the season in the last couple of years without doubt.

The Hull derby is surely the biggest derby now?
Bradford and Wigan are just not the forces they once was.

SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS

For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.

For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.

Wigan had eight in a row
Saints have five in a row

Just shows how poor Saints are then, when both Wigan and Bradford have beaten them this season.
