Wigan 21k tickets at an average of £17 (because of groupon deals) £357k plus drinks etc, easy £200k profit

and of course the mighty Saints
18k x £25 average ticket (very modest as every box and corperate place was filled) =£ 450k, plus extras should give us well north of £300k profit for a nights work

With Wigan sold a lot of £10 tickets on groupon offer.

I'm sure Brian said they had sold about 14,000 before the offer came in. I'm sure he can tell us.

It's great financially (if that's what they made) but what if you lose a few key players, lose the following week and start dropping points ? Is it worth not making the top 4 for the friendly ? I'm not talking about the saints game as that was for the chance to be the best team in the world.


If I was smith or wane, id have picked a weakened team as I'm sure they would rather take 2 points the following week rather than beating to very poor NRL teams in a totally meaningless game

Pete, when you classify something as meaningless. You do know the universe will eventually grow cold and dark and nothing will exsist therefore making the entirety of life meaningless. Nothing will be remembered or celebrated.

Therefore the only meaning that something has is that which you give to it.

For you it's meaningless as that is the value you place on it, for others it has meaning as that is the value they place on it.

Valuation is always in the eye of the behold.

Oh sorry, maybe the word meaningless was wrong as I'm sure us saints fans will never forget our record defeat and the rugby world will remember it was a 3-0 whitewash by lower NRL teams.
