Where the frick did it go wrong? Ok, so we may never have been the closest bunch, but it appears over the past couple of seasons things have turned into the type of bitchfest we used to see in the days of King Piemon and the Wigoon chavs.
It appears several posters, on both sides want nothing more than to perpetuate the idea that the two don't get on, like the players at the world cup.
The constant sniping, biting and bitching is ultimately tedious. It is immature, irrelevant, and very little rugby actually gets discussed with out it turning into a "he pushed me first."
It's sad really, because after a quiet off season, we picked up, and rugby debate was going really well on here.
Rant over
Now you see I am in a dilemna because I wholeheartedly support the sentiment behind your entire post.
I really like St helens and its' supporters. I've friends who live there and often stand in the pop stand for our away games.
But I can't really post what i am about to without diverting away from your sentiment a little but feel I need to.
Just have a read through Stirlingshire Saints contributions on
this very thread. Then imagine how much worse it is when its' posting on Southstander this past fortnight (and indeed all last summer when you took over at the top of the table).
Sadly, I feel I let myself down this past week and sank to its' level. I must admit i found it amusing when King Monkey made it cry by referencing its' public mental breakdown and I am usually bigger than that.
So, to all bar Stirlingshire Saint, if I offended you this past week with my forthright opinions I apologise. I hope we can enjoy further discourse in the build up to this Sunday's game, a game I am anticipating more than any in some of my lengthy time watching RL, and indeed afterwards, even if that discourse involves exchanging vastly different opinions.
