Saints have been signing top players under the salary cap for years. He'll be getting paid his market rate.

We've not done that good a job we kept getting pinged for it I agree though, isn't it funny how people know exactly what happened in private meetings with players, clubs, agents... its a shame most of the stories from those in the know differ so much!!!

At the end of the day only a select few will know what Shenton has signed for, we might have offered most, we might not have, it isn't always about the most cash there is career progression and development, finals, medals, new team mates, how well the club treats you all sorts will go into a decision like that - unless you were stuart fielden and were offered the earth would money be the only choice

Meh he's ok. He ain't at Gidley's level and whether he ever will be remains to be seen.

Who ever plays outside him won't see much ball that's for certain, so if it's Lomax he better get ready for some pretty barren years ahead.

I'll now await for ChieftScout to throw a hissy fit about Wigan fans always playing down Saints signings.

Being nice I actually think he'll do a decent job for you. He's got pace a bit of footwork and the main thing he's got age on his side, so any little weaknesses in game he'll have time to iron out.

I think it was Warrington who offered the money, But he chose saints, Bradford couldnt meet his demands, Wigan and Cas couldnt compete with the deal Saints have offered. Lets just say, He hasnt gone there on the cheap

I love these statements. I take it you can state this because you've spoken to all concerned and they all told you what he was asking and what they were prepared to offer.

Or some bloke in the pub said it/you read it on a message board/you're hacked off because he didn't sign for your club/you just like to pretend you're in the know.

Why say he hasn't gone there on the cheap? Because you don't know what he's gone there for, that's why. And you also don't know who else offered what.
