Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

Neither you or Pete have given any reason as to why you think it will take 2 years or more to build Saints new stadium, when similar sized stadium have all been built in approximately 1 year.

Nor have you taken any notice of the contractual obligations of the builders, who have even stated on their website when the stadium and Tescos will be finished by.

There is an alien spaceship buried deep under the new stadium site. It will be found and cause a 12 month delay while the Government decides how best to tax it's perpetual motion fuel system.

Not forgetting the court procedings to decide who will pay all the parking tickets that will be issued on the spaceship, plus the Council will have to appeal the ConDem Government implementation of the Entry zone restriction charge of £10 (this will go to fund a Ground for the Pie eaters) similar to the one in Central London, Boris Cromwell will be transferred from the Big Smoke to implement the Scheme. (the Libdems had it in their Manifesto). a Happy and Prosperous New Year to all Rugby fans :thumb:
Especially Saddened who enriches our lives with so much Joy and Hope and Rogues for constantly reminding us who supported Wigan as a lad.

It was just what I was told by someone I'd expect to know as he has been in meetings about the new stadium.

Im also in the construction game and hope to get a contract on the new
saints stadium.

From what I'm told, it's a 60 week build. I'm also told the ground needs to be piled which ain't even started yet!

So if the build started 1st next month, it would be built for say 1st April. That's if everything runs to plan and in this game just the weather can set a project back a good while.

If I'm being honest I would say from what I can see that may/June will be more like it.

Ps I was also told the Bolton based firm doing that was doing the precast concrete for stadium went bust last month.

The contract is indeed one for 60 weeks. This commenced the end of August. Barrs website clearly shows the contractual timeline

http://www.barr-construction.co.uk/case ... e-stadium/

Piling is due to start this month. The official schedule on a planning document i posted earlier in this thread, talks of the last week in January. So this will give an indication of if the stadium is ahead of schedule or behind schedule, and by how much.

Re the alleged firm doing the Pre cast concrete going bust. Are you sure they are the actual contractor or is this just heresay?
Reason i ask this is that Barr do their own in house Pre Casting
http://www.barr.co.uk/precast.html

With regard to timelines to build stadia and Tescos. Here is a case study on Barrs own Website looking at the Warrington build which is very similar to Saints.

http://www.barr-construction.co.uk/case ... arrington/

This project was Started in March and finished in October of the same year.
