Just a thought but is there any real reason why names can't be added under each picture? If as you rightly suggest some people wouldn't recognise pictures of the older players.
Once we come to designing it big enough to send to the manufacterers, we will.
Right, so I have gone about picked a 22 off the list, looking at each one on www.saints.org.uk (great site again Fishy and co)
Alex Murphy Les Jones Duggie Greenall Kel Coslett Alf Ellaby Roy Haggerty Paul Wellens Keiron Cunningham Billy Benyon Geoff Pimlett Tommy Voll Shane Cooper Len Killeen Sean Long Vinty Karalius Paul Sculthorpe Bobbie Goulding Chris Joynt Tommy Martyn Eamonn McManus Jim Sullivan Harry Cook
I feel we have covered a broad range of ages, backgrounds and what not.
If anyone can put a compelling argument to me by Tuesday night about a change, then I will alter it. But if we fannied around with who wants what, we would never get this off the forums and onto photoshop (let alone a flag)

As I have put on the other board. I am surprised Alan Prescott hasn't been named on the list. Club and country captain - award winner and played on in a test match with a broken arm. The club thought highly of him too as they named a suite in his honour at the club. When we move grounds the suite will be lost but the flag will still be there.

Roy Matthias before Les Jones
Meninga before Geoff Pimblett
Not too sure about Shane Cooper even though he was a great player i would personally put in Austin Rhodes who has not been mentioned.

Right, while work won't give me many hours, I am freaking bored, and being easily led by fantasies of making Knowsley Road colourful outside of painting the pee wall yellow.
For those who cannot be bothered to go through this is a Tifo.
Now, St Ty and I discussed, not long after Vinty Karalius passed, how a retrospective tifo would be superb. Recognise what a great history we have as a reminder to the players of the future.
So, if we were to go about designing one, who would you see go onto it?
Players like Voll, Murphy, Vinty K, Scully, the King and Longy are givens. Any coaches, maybe?
We also had a "slogan" we could have on it, which was "Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence."
If we can start designing, we can look at pricing it up, and look into funding it (which you will all be pleased to know I will delegate to some one else )
Traitor.
