I agree, clough is good player and very good club player but he's not big enough to play at international level.

I hope he's stays fit as his meters and leg drive will be needed when jammer goes.

It's a shame nobody told Paul Gallen this. He'd better give those Australia and SOO man of the match awards back as he's too small.

Let's be honest, clough ain't anywhere the same league as Paul gallen and it's because Paul gallen is better all round player in every department. Gallen is much stronger than clough and more mobile with better hands.

Paul clough don't have the extra skill needed to make him a international player that the likes of gallen has.

On your assumption of players and size, every player the same size should have the same level of ability

On the flipside, if a player is strong, makes significant territory and is an outstanding defender (all of which are true of Clough) what does it matter how big he is?

Anyway, is Clough even that small?

Clough has been backrow most of his time but wasn't mobile enough to be a backrow as he's a stocky type of build.

He then moved up to prop but I don't think he's the right type of bulks for prop, maybe a little to light but he still Does a good job as a prop and I like him but I don't think he'll ever play for England.

He's a player don't seem to fit a postion but always does a great job without letting the team down.

Clough plays the modern day loose forward role which is like a third more mobile prop

I know he does but you'll find laffranchi will take that role next year. I've not got anything against Paul and I think he's a great club player but I don't think he'll ever play for England.

It wasn't me making the assumptions - people saying if Clough was bigger he would be an international is making an assumption. In fact, you've proved my point by describing why Gallen is a 'small' international prop/loose.

If Clough doesn't become an international it will be because he's not good enough, not because he isn't big enough.
