Taken on Monday, you can see the base for the pitch being laid.
The buldozer has two Topcon TM1's fitted to it. These talk to the yellow box on the tripod in the background, which automatically lowers or raises the dozer blades to ensure the surface covered with the base material is flat and even.
Moving forward to today you can see they have covered the pitch with the intitial grey base material and are now putting down a golden sand layer.
You can also see two vertical pipes, one infront of, and one to the right of the bulldozer. Could this be the sprinkler pipes?
If so it gives some indication of the final pitch height.
On Monday the East stand had been sanded ready for concrete pouring
By Saturday, some of the concrete flooring was already in place with more about to be done.
This picture of the east stand also shows a section which juts out from the main oval shape of the stand. This is were the turnstyles will go. "Early exit" doors are also being fitted to cater for the Wigan fans
Moving onto the North, family stand and you can see they have started laying the plastic damp proof sheeting.
There is a very large hole behind the North stand were i suspect a large storm water attenuation tank will be built
Moving to the West, home terrace, and the brickwork has been continuing apace. It looks like an internal scaffold floor has been built to allow the brickies to continue building upwards.
The final few safety barriers were also being fitted to the corner of the west and north stand , to allow the roofers to do their work. Currently the roofers are working on the corner of the South and West stand.
Moving onto the South stand and the first outer cladding is being fitted
The cladding is thick and fully insulated
In the centre of the South stand, framework is being put in place, for what appears to be glazing units
This shot of the corner of the South and East stand shows were the South stand floor has been concreted, and also shows were a brick lift shaft has been built.
Finally on the Tesco side, work continues on the car park. The kerbs have been fitted which show the road layout inside the site to the Tesco's from the linkroad.
