Let me clarify that I don't think it's true. The club have always seemed to be very positive about his future, Royce even picked him over Leon Pryce for the Grand Final spot.

If he were being released, I could only theorise it would be to do with his lack of ability to get on the field and/or a potential new signing.

I've never seen much from him to be honest, but everyone else raves about his potential so like you say it would be a strange one.
