I heard a funny story about the biggest of the two chimneys, work to demolish the chimney took longer than expected, when they were ready to knock it down it was 9.30 at night, they couldn't leave it unstable overnight having cut away part of the chimney at the bottom, so they shoved it over with a crane or something like that, it shook the flats at Peasly Cross and the area around shook, the noise sounded like a bomb had gone off.
