This weeks piccies.
A footpath that can also serve as an emergency vehicle access has been created from the mini roundabout on the Tesco's side of the site. They have also built up what look like dry stone walls, but are probably gabions to separate the Tesco side from the RL side. These walled areas may become popular on sunny days with scallies sitting on them while supping 2 litre bottles of white lightening.
From the Peasley cross side they have been digging up the entrance road ready for relaying the surface
looks like they have come across something they probably didnt expect to find. Are these rails from an ancient railway line to a long forgotten foundry?
Along the front of Peasley cross lane they have started fitting the vehicle crash barriers.
Looking into the stadium and the glass has gone into the PA and police control box
some of the drain pipes have still not been connected up from the roof
Outer cladding is also be put on the sides of the south stand that link to both the East and West terraces
You can see on this shot all the completed blockwork for the North stand
looking at the corner of the North and West stand we can see the completed blockwork, but perhaps more importantly see that floodlights have been fitted above the South stand.
Note also what look like air vents, have been cut from the cladding above the executive box patios
Thes floodlights look large and powerful. I like how they dont all point downwards, the ones that dont, are probably to prevent high towering kicks getting lost in darkness, as is the case in the gloomy underpowered lighting at Widnes.
The builders were also working on the East stand turnstyle block
Finally i managed to get these pics of the seating going into the North stand. Looks nearly complete
