I worked for UG at the administrative head office in St.Albans & latterly Harlow closing down the catering operation & redesigning the new kitchen. We helped rescue a lot of the old moulds/bottles & other unique glass vessels from their store when they moved over to Harlow but quite a few bits of really old stuff was just thrown away as if it was just waste (This included laptops going in the skips too!!!) Preserving social history for future generations seems to be bottom of the list these days. Shame really.
