Manu and Turner nailed on, despite some of the rumours that have been going round about them changing their minds, also we are after a prop from Auckland Warriors.

Manu is a good player but his career is coming to the end. Turner is average and no better than Shenton. A prop is a must but anyone coming from down under will not be cheap. Obviously players will need to be chopped from the current rosta to balance the books. The young guns will also be looking for improved contracts.

Hark at Mr/Mrs Glass half empty over here. Jesus. What young guns are you talking about? They have all pretty much signed new contracts recently and none of them are playing well.

The only problem with the prop from NZ is the quota. Hopefully it means Hohaia is leaving, as it's not really progress if it's TP, Perry or Laffranchi that leave.

I've heard that rangi Chase agent is touting him about to clubs as he's not happy with the way it's going at cas.

As Nathan Brown as told shenton he's no longer wanted at saints and has been given permission to talk to other clubs and both he and Chase are under contract.

Why not do a swap deal?

If Rangi is properly British on the quota, I'd vote 'yes'.

Rangi Chase is a great player and I'd take him like a shot but not at the expense of sacrificing either Gaskell or Lomax. He isn't an organiser either which would mean Gaskell would be invaluable, if he isn't already, for the future.

I think the fact that we appear desperate enough to get shot of shenton that we will pay half his wages puts us in a poor bargaining position for a swap deal.
