Good news. I never wanted him to sign for Saints.

But it does beg the question, assuming Smith has signed for Wigan, in that we've been beaten to our first two choices for this mystery half back berth we'll have next season. One has to wonder how desperate we'll get before the seatch for a new halfback who isn't called Lee Gaskell will get before the season starts next year.

Brown managed to turn Huddersfield into perennial contenders with Brown, Robinson and Brough. We'll be okay with what we have even if he says different.

Doubt we were ever really in for Finch, given that we don't have a quota spot to accommodate him.

And if you're glad Finch isn't coming to Saints, you must be ecstatic that Smith isn't; he is unbelievably average.

Yup, didn't want either of them. I'm in Lee Gaskell's corner. I really don't see why he has been frozen out, he was sensational for us last season and has all the organisational and kicking qualities we're supposedly looking for.
