Whilst watching the Cas v Widnes game t'other night, i felt like we've missed a trick.
Chase is suspended and Orr is struggling with injury. They took to the field with McGoldrick and Ferres (i think) as their starting halves.

I wondered whether we'd missed a trick by not getting Wheeler, who's currently languishing in the reserves, over there. You may not think, with Millward being fired from Saints, we'd have the best contact, but he took Emmit and Armstrong on loan when he was at Leigh.

Anyhow, apparently Jamie Ellis has secured an early release from Hull and is now moving immediately, although mcGoldrick is apparently going to move aswell.

On the Widnes forum they are saying that they are rumoured to have signed (or will sign) Clough and Meli...hope this isn't the case and they have been offered deals by us.

I do hope they have signed Meli!

It would be a shame to lose Clough as he works hard in every match.

There have been loads of your players linked to us both for this years recruitment and for 2013, as far as I can recall only one of them, the infamous Mr Moore has come off.

So I wouldn't take anything on the TIW Board, related to Saints players coming to us too seriously. Doesn't mean that nobody will come our way, just that sources haven't proved too reliable in the past!

By the way when Brown arrives is he likely to bring Moore with him? My sense would be that he has burnt his bridges, but Brown must feel he an control his off-field excesses.

I find it very unlikely that the club would allow Brown to bring Moore back

Can't really see clough going. He'll be getting a reasonably senior wage and is in a good place professionally.
Although if Widnes throw a big offer at him, I guess he's more replacable than some for Saints.

He is OOC this season though so you would imagine he would have been signed up by now. We tied up the likes of Foster and Wheeler early doors this season, but others have been left and so the likes of dixon are rumoured to be moving on to Salford. You would think if clough was staying he would have wanted to have some confirmation of this. But then again Wello is still in negotiations so who knows????

If Clough is being allowed to leave, surely it would indicate we've made another signing to replace him?

It'd be an insane decision for us to get rid of Clough unless Widnes have offered crazy money for him.
