Tompkins did alright today, but as ever with him, he does as many stupid things as he does good things. For example his 40:20 under pressure put his side in the position to score a try, but then 2 minutes later he balloons one out on the full from way inside his own half. He is also an absolute idiot defensively, always offside and he is never square at the play the ball, which costs them over and over again. Their discipline is absolutely shocking. In the second half they had around 80% possession but were still losing ground on the penalty count. Against a top team (Any one of the 2) that would be exploited.

The star man for the Goons today wasn't that little parasite it was Frodo O'Loughlin. I don't rate him at all but he stepped up to the mark today and it was him that earned that victory, not Mr Hit then Miss Tompkins.

You never are. Some of your analysis is quite embarassing. I thought as a neutral young Tompkins played very well, far better than the credit you gave him.

How do you compare him to Eastmond?

How is he an idiot defensively when he makes more tackles, and misses less than the so-called 'best SH in SL'?
Always offside and never square.

As pointed out, your observational skills need work.

I don't really know, I've not seen Eastmond play much. Eastmond looks faster and more skillful with a better kicking game, but has never had the extended run in the side Tompkins has had in order to make a decision on whether he'll make it at scrum half or not. Tompkins looks a very good young player, but seems to make a lot of poor decisions at times which against better sides that Hull KR would cost Wigan. As ever with their young players he would be better served leaving ASAP so he doesn't end up on the career scrapheap with so many of their other players.

You gotta love that bi-polar disorder

One minute pube head is not fit for the shirt, next minute he would be an outstanding NRL player.

Surely for a 6 or 7 the important stats are try assists, attacking kicks, runs from dummy half and attacking kicks?
Longy (who is not having his best season) is better 3 out of 4 even when more games is taken into account.
Sam is a good player, and COULD become a great one, the same with myler and eastmond(or smith or wheeler or lomax). having 3 or more potential great halves can only help the british (english) game. But none of them are currently better than longy, but next year as they are more mature and longy is a year older, who knows?
