Depends what the deep pocket of NRL offer both player and club I suppose.

As this is a rumour thread and facts are not required, you could see Lomax getting an offer say double his current, we can't match, but we have a contract to 2015.

The club is offered £0.5million in compensation, we make an attempt on Brough.

It's not beyond impossible. But would require a lot to just fall into place.

There'd have to be a big chunk of transfer fee involved for that to happen. Getting a few hundred grand for him that could be used in nabbing Brough and Crabtree wouldn't make me too unhappy...

Hypothetically speaking (of course): it depends on when Penrith want him. If Penrith want him now then they would have to put together a fairly sizeable compensation package for us to allow him to go, but they could wait another season or two and try and persuade Saints to allow him to leave during the last year of his contract.

When was the last time that a NRL team paid compensation to a SL club for a player? I cannot remember it ever happening recently, so I'd assume that if Penrith do want him then they will play the waiting game.

Would be a cracking signing. It would allow someone to depart for yonder shores and us to sign a replacement from the NRL to play in the halves.
