I struggle to see how you are spending the full salary cap given who have left and who has come in. Do you think you're spending the full salary cap?

In relation to stadium ownership there does seem to be a conflict between the contractual documents released via the council's website and the comments made by Colquitt on the radio.

Was it Colquitt who released the statment on supporters' meetings in February?

What I will say from listening to the radio show (did you?) was that I fully expect an announcemnet about the award of the building contract by Easter.

I'm not sure however whether the current "round-about" works need to be complete before the 60 week stadium build starts or whether the stadium fit-out is included within the 60 week period. Certainly the fit-out (corporate, offices, shop, etc) for Warrington's stadium was after the main build was complete.

If they say they are spending to the cap then I have no reason not to believe them. I have no idea what salaries our players are commanding just now. After all, we have a few internationals in the side who are very experienced players. It's only when we have injuries that we introduce our young guys, with the exception of Kyle who has taken the 7 spot.

I don't see that conflict but you do. I suppose it is down to interpretation of the documents. Colquitt stated at the supporters' meeting I went to 18 months ago that Saints would own the stadium and he stated it again on the radio (and yes, I listened to the show) so I have no reason to disbelieve him.

Was it Colquitt who released the statment on supporters' meetings in February?

I don't remember who released the statement. I read it on the Saints website. There is every possibility that they intended to hold the meetings in February. However, there was no excuse IMO for them not advising the fans that the meetings could not be held after all. That was poor by the club. But nothing new, I hasten to add. Saints club isn't well known for keeping its fans up to date on anything. My Dad reckons they have always been the same and he's been supporting Saints for 60 odd years.

Given that the (slightly optimistic I think) deadline of June has been given then I would imagine they are anticipating the stadium is fit for use by then, which would mean it's fitted out in full and ready to go as a working stadium in that time. I am sure the roundabout work and all the other infrastructure stuff around the stadium will take place at the same time as the clearance and construction.

When asked when the stadium will be ready Colquitt replied the 1st of June, not about June or maybe June but June the 1st, a precise date, he also said it will be a 60 week build which gives a start date of the 7th of next month.
The info on the traffic boards give road works ending October, this date could give some credence to the rumour of Tesco wanting to open for Christmas.

I would agree with you on the communications bit. Abysmal to say the least. I have sent them at least 3 emails over the past couple of years and have not had a response. The sad thing is that Saints are probably like most other clubs in this department and then we wonder why we can't compete with Union for publicity.

IM in the building game and hope to get a contract on the saints stadia but i would be very shocked if tesco would be built and open by christmas.

We just did a job in widnes building M&S, NEXT, OUTFIT, COSTA COFFEE, NEW LOOK AND FEW OTHERS, that took just over 18 month and will open on 18th of this month.
