I would say he did exactly that last might by going with 3 props from the start, as oppose to the first couple of games where wilkin was 13.

But how do you explain not using Lance effectively?

Resting our biggest player against one the biggest packs?

Resting one of our in form players in Dixon against one of the better sides we will come up against?

Starting with 3 props is what he usually likes to do, so I'd imagine he may have been waiting for TP to return to full fitness before implementing this tactic.

I don't like saying this but I'd get shut now and put KP in charge until we find a good proper coach. Of he's left to continue he will set us back years.

The fact he's signed a 32yr old back row as our replacement for jammer means the next coach has to try and get a prop in as Royce didn't.

Same with lance, he's signed a fullback to cover the loss of our scrum half when we are in desperate need for a experinced halfback and the next coach has to deal with this problem as well.

I think not many would relish taking over with the above recruitment mess and worst thing is they are both quota players.

In terms of bringing lance on, he wasn't replacing a tired player, he could have come on for roby, but that would mean taking off out best player. Take off Gaskell and lose our best kicker, take off lomax and lose nother real attacking threat. Wellens? Maybe.

Leaving out perry was part of our rotation, and many people reckon he's been our most inneffective prop this season, heaviest or not. Dixon was rotated, of the back rowers he could have rested soliola or wilkin, both big game players that we needed. Am sure a case could be made hoe all the decisions, and had we hung on for an extra few seconds last night, would have been justified. After all for most of the game we were the better side.

If we need to be resting players in the first three weeks of the season then we have trouble ahead.

Funny how he constantly moaned he couldn't pick a settled team last year due to Injuries yet he's swapping and changing every week.

How can makinson need a rest after one game? He's 20 years old and fit as a fiddle.

I guess it is partly due to resting, but also partly due to having so many players competing for the same positions. I'd sooner him experiment with the side now and have a settled team cum play off time, than stock with one group now.

I'd rather him get his best team on the pitch, come up with some plays and get his tactics sorted.

He's unsettling players and nobody knows if he's playing, no matter how he's playing.

He's not resting them. He has stated quite openly in the press that he is wanting to keep them fit. He is not letting players play who have so much as a bruise on their little finger. His aim, as he has also stated clearly in the press, is to enable our players to have something left at the end of the season. Presumably the coaching staff has come to the conclusion that our grand final losses are at least in part down to being out of gass and playing on injuries.

I think the bloke is just trying his best to put right a wrong and I think we need to give him time to do that now that he has a full team (assuming Shenny and TP are not now out injured of course).

If he's not picking players that little bruises then we shouldn't have a team to pick. If players are coming off the field without a bruise then they ain't getting involved in the game.

Not picking players with a bruise on little finger FFS he gets better!

I'm starting to think that Royce Simmons on twitter really is him.

If he wants to protect his players then start using his four subs and not let them stay in the pitch while out on their feet while a back sits on his backside

Now you're being obtuse and when you're in that mood there is no point responding to you.
