how can we even poke fun at wigan recruiting overseas players, when in the same paragraph you point out we've signed perry and soliola? Wigan to be fair will have 4 off the cap and 3 on, so they're moving in the right direction, as are we. Its the likes of Hull Kr who we should be mocking!

I can't see them going for Hargreaves, they've got 4 props that you'd probably take in front of him.

Firstly, we can poke fun at Wigan anytime we want, for any reason we want. They are Wigan. That is sufficient reason.

Secondly, they have imported three in one season. We have imported one each season and have dispatched more foreign players than we have taken on (Caylis and Talau last season; Maurie, Gidley and possibly Meli and Flannery this).

Imported 3 this year, whilst bringing in none last year. Also released Tim Smith last year, added the *probable* releases of Phelps, Feka, Bailey, Riddell. So within 2 years that 3 in and 5 out.

So even assuming you get rid of all of Phelps/Feka/Bailey/Riddell you'll still have SEVEN players in your first choice 17 unavailable to play for England in 2011. Wow - that's awesome

p.s. we'll only have 3 players certain to be unavailable for England compared to your 7: Perry, Soliola and Puletua. Less than half. Even if we kept BOTH Flannery and Meli (unlikely) we'd still only have 5 compared to your 7.

Of the players you have released, Phelps and Feka weren't even first choice 17, but you've brought in 3 who certainly will be. So actually you have LESS spots for England eligible players in your 17 in 2011 than you had in 2010. Congratulations on the achievement.

It doesn't matter though, the quota rules are slowly tightening and we're seeing the number of foreigners decrease accross the board, Wigan too will fall into line as the ockers exempt from the quota because of being here beforehand get old and retire.
