The thing that really gets me with Potter is that when we lose, he just simply says 'the better side won on the day'. This may be correct, but as a fan i want to know why we didn't perform, what went wrong, or even some reassurance that they are going to work on things that went wrong. Just something more than the better side won on the day. He doesn't seem very enthusiastic.
Dad said exactly the same thing to me on Sunday! There's no need to criticise the players, because most people on here can do that, but at least try to enlighten some of the points from the game!
I'll be honest with you though... I don't think the other teams in the competition have improved up to us & Leeds, I think we've both moved back into the pack... Why?
1. Well squad depth, recruitement issues with the cap...
2. But mainly the poor refereeing! They allow too much lying-on! Wigan are the worst in the league for it. They gang up in the tackle & then 'peel' one by one. That's been banned since 1996, along with the flop, but the officials seem to be turning a blind-eye to it?! Cummins needs to go because the officials are garbage! If they bring the 10m rule down to 5m then we'd might as well go and watch paint dry because it'll be more interesting than loadsa fatties in cherry&white shirts having a sleep on the man!
To be honest though, Wigan played by the officials rules from this year & fair play! Saints don't lie-on & I think this year it's costing us because we're not re-loading in time and getting caught down the middle, especially when teams use 'flat-balls' on the inside shoulder of the 'A' defender!... It means we're on the back-foot and Smith's kicking game & Wigan's chase murdered us! I'm a great believer in 'sets of 8' (5 plays, kick-chase & 2 strong defense tackles). Wigan did it brilliantly and deserved their win. Now I know I'll be confusing alot of you on here because reading some of your posts you know very little, or nothing about Rugby League Football, so I've probably lost some of you after the first sentence?!
For those with any idea I hope you agree...
