Id rather lose the odd game in the short term to allow genuine young talent that we have at the club to flourish especially so in the current financial climate and the reduction in salary cap rewards.
A signing of this nature would be a slap in the face for all the hard work and money we invest in our heralded junior development.
If we were reliant on Matty Smith maybe but we have Wheeler and Eastmond kids with pace, vision and footwork - real potential which needs experience to flourish.
Given no-one in Britain can produce a decent three quarter I dont mind the likes of Gids and Soliola being purchased, but when we have genuine potential in specific positions id like to see it given a chance to develop.
This is the St Helens way, fore runners in youth development for which we should be immensly proud and appreciative.
