At the time I wasn't convinced it was a malicious "smash" as it looked like Myler hadn't grounded the ball and that Tomkins was trying to prevent it, but I accept the RFL's decision that it was (at least) careless. One of the mitigating factors of that case was that they know each other personally so I tend to think it's a reasonable explanation that there was no malice. Having said that, he is (as I've already acknowledged) becoming a liability and I would prefer him (and anyone else) not to tarnish our prospects or our reputation by acting like a dick. Being proud of your team doesn't mean you turn a blind eye to incidents, or worse - defend them - it means you'd rather have them not happen at all.
