Indeed, but who has said Eastmond wants to go? Numerous things about the club wanting rid, but nothing from him.

We were strongly linked with him during the off season so it would not surprise me. I think we are out of quota space this season so probably next, if at all.

This Chris Ashton bit is just a smokescreen, Rogues is still distraught at Ricky Bibby choosing to go to Leigh instead of playing for Sheilas Wheels

What makes you think this? He has displayed only a basic level of ability so far. The odd nice touch, the odd nice kick. But he's also proven he's incredibly nervous and cannot handle a big game environment. He also looks very suspect under pressure, as he dropped everything in the second half against Wire.

People on here big up so many young players to a ridiculous level and few of them make it past 'solid squad member for a few years' status. The likes of Wheeler, Lomax and Gaskell are in this bracket and previous generations have included the Jonkers, Bennett's and Clough's of this world. Solid players but not the world class international players they were talked up to be.

Wouldn't it be better to have an established player on a two or three year deal and have him learn as first line support to the first team at 6 and 7 rather than being thrown in to drown?

I know it's now fashionable to call him, but Kyle Eastmond is the most talented back I've ever seen the club produce in 25 years. Eastmond to Gaskell is an enormous step towards mediocrity it seems?
