The Wigan announcement is not to do with a player signing or indeed a player, but it is something that will benefit the club.

The kids aren't good enough to cover for the loss of Leon. Lomax isn't as good a player even when we can get him on the pitch.

Going into the season with the only halfbacks in the squad being Eastmond, Lomax and Wheeler would be a disaster. If we're going to do it then Scott Moore and Jon Wilkin had better get practicising.

No it wouldn't.

£200k is a massive exaggeration. He only has one year left on this contract. Sam Burgess who was still very young and more in demand at the time went for only £100k with the same amount left on his deal.

I'd say it'd be a maximum of £100k, but probably a bit less.

The money would be available from what I understand.


Saying that, personally I wouldn't read too much into it. If the signing had already been made, it would have been announced as such before the 10K Pledge Deadline for us this coming Monday (as it might encourage some who haven't yet pledged to get a season ticket). The fact it's not been announced says it's not a done deal. That's not to say it won't happen, but it clearly hasn't happened yet.

No, we're not. The more reasoned posters admit it's a possibility but are far from convinced it's going to happen. It's only a few slightly deluded that are convinced it's already confirmed!

As he's contracted it'll cost whatever we ask, as others have said we dont have a direct replacement ready yet, lomax, wheeler and Gaskell arn't ready for that role full time, so we'd want mega bucks

If a price can be agreed, Pryce needs to weigh up which is a better club for him to be at.
He'll be settled at Saints and has been having a lot of success - why leave?
Well, Bradford is his home town and perhaps he wants to rejoin Potter over there, but surely the playing side isn't going to give such reward.
But the key thing is contracts - If bradford are offering a decent 3 or even 4 year contract, then it will be very tempting. He's coming to that age where his next contract could be his last (big) one, and if he falls into saints catogary of only being offered a 1 year deal, then he may feel the move is best for him.
With all the belt tightening that must be going on in advance of going into our new home, I bet a healthy transfer fee may be tempting, but imo Pryce is our marquee player and will be nigh on impossible to replace.
