Not sure what you are laughing about. I guess you think Sadfish was laying some bait on a fishing trip, unfortunately not:

I'm guessing Sadfish must be responding to my jokey reference to billionaires but lets be fair some of you actually think that is true.

I would imagine that the NWDA will be funding all the previous (demolition/remediation) contracts and the current on-going ones relating to the infrastructure. If the contract is signed then all well and good however if it isn’t signed then I would guess that the funding will be pulled. I know Morrsions have been mentioned as the contractor for the bridge but has that been signed yet? If not then that could get pulled and given the cuts they are to face the council won’t have the funds to plug the shortfall.

Are the NWDA part of the funding for the actual stadium build itself? I’d be surprised if that is the case as it’s not really their remit. They get involved to ensure the site is suitable for development eg roads etc.

I guess Saints are lucky to have them billionaires on the board. Plugging a funding gap to the tune of a few million will be chicken-feed to them.

it hasnt gone yet and all thats being done is a Govt white paper in the summer

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/10385430.stm

and as far a we are aware the councill is doing the infrastructure

Wasn't the NWDA finance in place of some of the council finance? That was my impression at the time it was awarded. The £4 million from NWDA was for infrastructure works, lowering the council input to £6 million. Saints club alone is responsible for the cost of building the actual stadium.

now I was under the impression that the council were payin wholey for the infrastructure with profits from land sales, Saints are putting £8 million and Tescos the rest for the stadium, possibly the NWDA is helping with remediation ? and I dont remembr how much the NWDA was putting in anyway , but as the atricle says they havent gone yet only a white paper on getting rid, this is all speculation and we have no real idea who is paying what, but things ARE proceeding ,

They are moving along ok, just waiting for the first JCB in the ground and things will change dramatically hopefully in the next few weeks...

We are just in at the right time with the development though as undoubtedly things would have been more difficult getting a project like this through in the next 12-18 months after all the changes!

This was posted on Redvee on the 22nd June
Evening ladies and gents, ive been watching on here with great interest for the last couple of weeks, so thought it was about time i posted. my name is Adam, im the site engineer for Birse Civils who are currently constructing the saints access roundabout. i just thought id let you all know from next week, for the remainder of the project we will be holding a 'site surgery' to keep people informed on the progress of the job and for people to ask questions etc on Wednesdays and fridays from 1pm to 3pm. whilst your all welcome to attend, please bear in mind that we are only a small site so if 3000 rugby fans turn up at once we might have a slight parking issue!!!!, Maybe if Anne is available at those times she could come along every week or two and ask any questions you have and keep you informed of progress etc and provide more photos from the other side of the fencing. Over the coming week or 2 we will be putting a site notice board up on the fence line next to the shopping complex with information, photos etc, again to try and keep you informed of the progress of the job.

Just to clear a few things up, there will be a controlled crossing on the south side of the roundabout with traffic lights, however on the access road itself and north of the roundabout there will be uncontrolled crossings. there have been landrovers doing site investigation near where the new footbridge will be, however if this is for the footbridge or the stadium, im not sure....

The heads on the lighting columns will be installed in the next few days, and cableing of the columns will be done at the tail end of the week. followwing that, pedestrian guard rail will be installed before the major drainage works commence in the middle of the roundabout, which will take a number of weeks, and will probably look from the outside that not a lot will be happening, however i assure you there will be a lot going on underground that you cant see.

We are incredibly keen on completing these works on time and budget with the minimal disruption as possible so if you have any concerns or questions please dont hesitate to visit the site surgery.

Kind Regards

so if anyobody wants to pop down and ask questions , theres your chance

Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

The grapevine still isn't putting any names forward for the stadium contractor.
